I have this terrible habit…

…of writing/imagining scenes that are a good one to two chapters ahead of what I already have written and getting attached to them.  And then, by the time I get to the part where the scene would have gone, the story direction has changed and I have the scrap it.

The same thing is happening now where I have this whole scene/scenario worked out and it is all falling into place as I write/brainstorm.  But if I have to scrap it when I actually get to that point in the story, I might just have to go into hiding for a couple of days and mourn the scene-that-could-have-been.  Sigh.
